Pax's grand day out!

Hallsands

22 July 1999

7.00am Woken up early. My mum, Jessica said we had to go diving whatever that is. I was put in the car and driven down the road.
7.30am This must be Suzanne who is taking my mum diving, she is only 5minutes late so that's not bad.
7.45am After stopping for food we are now sitting in a traffic jam on the M5
9.00am We stop at Exeter, are we there yet or is it time to chew the car a bit more!
10.00am Arrive at Hallsands and meet Tracey. Loads of people in funny suits and dogs to play with and what is the big blue water thing, I think I may try that out later.
10.30am Jessica and Suzanne enter the water for a dive. I blinked and when I opened my eyes they had disappeared into the water, they were gone ages. I had fun with Tracey watching everybody turning into lobsters in the sun.
11.05am Jessica and Suzanne came out of the water and Tracey let me go. I swam in the sea for the first time to meet mum and then noticed a big red thing floating on the surface. It then moved and I just had to go and make friends with it. It had a piece of string underneath so I couldn't pull it very far, but I did try. While I was having fun Tracey got ready to dive.
11.15am Suzanne and Tracey go for a dive. I waited on the beach. It was then that my floating toy left the water with two very grumpy divers, complaining about kids playing with their SMB (oops!). Suzanne and Tracey have a good dive with crabs, baby fish and a pipefish.

12.30pm All the kit is in the car and we are now sitting outside the bar. The prawns in the sandwich look really tasty, but every time I try to get one I get shouted at. I am not even allowed in the photo with Suzanne and Tracey. This weather is apparently like the Bahamas wherever they are!
2.30pm Mum and I go for a swim while Suzanne and Tracey go diving again. They do all of Tracey's drills so she has her first open water dive signed up later. They also see loads of creatures including hermit crabs, pouting and anaenomies.
3.30pm We are waiting for the AA man to arrive so that the car can start. It has managed to scramble the immobiliser code. I am hot and tired so I hope he arrives soon.
4.00pm The AA man has arrived, Suzanne has gone to Plymouth shopping and Tracey has gone home. Suzanne is coming back later to do a dive with Alan, the air man, on the Marana, but I hope we are gone by then.
5.30pm We are now on our way home on the back of a tow truck and Suzanne is back at Hallsands doing a wreck dive and having a good time and Tracey is down the pub also having a good time.
